Reudi (Andres) Villicus de Toggwil, community Heilen 1357 in the house of brookroom (Watch of the village No. 87) in Zurich, received with a son Reudi the regimen valid civil rights of the city of Zurich on Jan 9, 1386.

Reudi von Toggwil received the civil right mentioned above.

Jakob Andres joined the crew of the short rifle in 1444 at Hofflingen and bought two vineyards and a manwork meadow.

Ulrich Andres in 1468, belonged to a Guild and was known as "the Guilder at Waag", and fought in the battle at Murfer in 1476.

Reudi Andres lived from 1488-1504 in Schwerzern property at Oberstab and participated at the great rifle festival in Zurich and was at the siege of Dijon in 1513.

Rudolf Andres was born in Oberstrab in 1509, became Kronentor in Zurich before tax collector of the monasteries of Zurich.

Ulrich (Uli) born in Oberstrab Jan 22, 1534, married Margaretta Biedermann in Zurich June 14, 1554, was at the siege of Dijon by the Swiss in 1573, and died in Oberstrab in 1574. In 1560, a (son?) Heinrich Andres of Meisen was accepted a citizen at Zurich and became silversmith of the guild and was named 12th of the counsel of the free state of Zurich in June, 1588. He and his family lived in the Schonhausgut (pretty house property) at the Schwerzen zu Oberstrab.

Johannes (Hans) Andres was born in Oberstrab April 22, 1563. He left for Teilingen, community Weiblingen, and married Verena Binder of Kiburg in 1588.

Heinrich Andres (Undres) born Teilingen Jan 1, 1595, married Anna Brunger from Ugasul, community Illnau on March 2, 1617. He died in 1634, and she died in 1646.

Hans Jorg Entress born Jan 4, 1618, came in 1652 from Teilingen to Newhaus with the Baron of Wellendingen -Worndorf and was his caretaker. He was first married to Barbara Senn von Fischenfal (of fishvalley). This wife died in 1652 probably of the consequences of the hunger of the 30 years war. He married again to Mechtilde Hippen of Rottenburg on April 19, 1674. She died in 1678.

Josef Anton Entress was born in 1675, and became council administrator and Austrian registrar. He married Anna Maria Walker on May 10, 1693. She was the daughter of Zacharias Walker, a merchant in Reichsgotteshaus. She bore 3 sons and 4 daughters. His wife died in 1715. He married again to Marie Philippine Josepha Klara Sattel in Rottenburg about 1720. The youngest son of this marriage was Franz Laver Ferdinand Entress.

Franz Laver Ferdinand Entress was born Aug 8, 1721 in Rottenberg as the Three Kings Innkeeper. He married Katharina Haas of Schitzenbad and had 4 sons and 4 daughters. In 1794 he replaced a deceased government counselor Criop Von Melz, and was named as provisory land writer, and became the overseer of the Nobility of Ober and Nieder. In 1806 he became the governor of Wurfengerg, then a government official in Ulm and Stuttgart. On Dec 18, 1822 he received the nobility diploma with the title Von Fursteneck (after his wife who was a daughter of the High Bailiff Fischer Von Donaneschinger. One of his sons, Gustav Adolf Entress died as a royal Lieutenant General of Wurtemberg and was elevated to the nobility. There is a coat of arms. See historical sketch re July 14, 1789.

Ferdinand Entress was born Nov 20, 1790 in Rottenberg. He studied making buckles for belts. In 1816-17 he was given the responsibility to oversee the collecting of the crop during the great famine of that time. In 1820 he was denied approval to make himself an independent goldsmith because there were already 2 in the city, but he could establish himself by making a special work in silver and gold. In 1832 he bought a 3 story house by the market place for the highest shoemaker, Carl Riekert. It contained the gentleman's room, a place where nobility, clergy and sovereigners gathered. Visitors included the Archduke Mechthilde, and Emperor Maximilian. This custom originated in 1535 by pronouncement from Emperor Ferdinand. He married Magdalena Maier and had 4 sons and 2 daughters. The 4th son, Joseph b. 1818 continues our lineage. Ferdinand also married Anna Maria Letzgus, and had 5 children. Then Ferdinand died and his 2nd wife married Posamentier Guido Landsee and they had children.

Joseph Entress was born 1818 in Rottenberg. He became a merchant and a city advisor. He married Josepha Heberle and had 14 children of which 5 died young. His sons Franz Johann and Joseph Anton became merchants and moved to Stuttgart. Joseph married Franciska Weitman. His 3rd son Albert studied to be a sculptor and emigrated to Hartford.

Albert Entress was born Mar 12, 1844 in Rottenberg Germany and immigrated
to Hartford about 1870 and became a well-known sculptor. He carved the
figures on the Memorial Arch, on the Capitol building and other places in
Hartford, CT. He died Christmas day, 1925.
